Getting Back to the Grind

It seems that every September, getting back into the routine of things becomes more and more of a struggle. With the kids getting older, it seems that my to-do list is ever growing. As daunting as back-to-school is for me, I’ve discovered ways to help make busy times seem a little bit more manageable. As always, Willow Park Village remains my favourite place to check off all the to-do’s on my list.

Starbucks is truly a lifesaver – I don’t know what I would do without my dark roast every morning. The best thing about Willow Park’s location is the staff! They’re friendly, and provide me with much appreciated quick service. Getting the kids to school on time is a difficult feat in itself – I couldn’t imagine how much I would struggle without my daily dose of caffeine. The Starbucks mobile order app makes my mornings quick and easy – I send off my order before the kids and I leave the house, and it’s ready to pick up right when I walk in! With the extra time the app saves me, I even have time to get breakfast. The Starbucks to-go cups are a massive time saver, as well! They keep tea warm for hours (after all, who has time to re-brew, aha!).

As per tradition, I take the kids in for a haircut at the beginning of every school year. My son has an affiliation for all things muddy and sandy – no amount of scrubbing can quite eliminate his characteristically scruffy “summer hair”. Thank god for First Choice Haircutters! The skilled hairdressers at this salon always ensure that he is well groomed for his return to school!

Life gets pretty busy between work and the kids, so timesaving shortcuts are a must for me! I’m so thankful for businesses like Newton’s Dry Cleaning. Their service is unparalleled! I can always trust that they’ll make my clothes looks fantastic, no matter what the workday throws at me! There’s nothing worse than looking shabby at the office, so I appreciate Newton’s dedication to providing the Willow Park community with quality, affordable dry cleaning!

I am so looking forward to checking out a new addition to Willow Park – In the Black Fashions is a new ladies fashion store in the village! This store stocks their shelves with nothing but high quality, fashion-forward pieces. For a busy mom like me, having easy access to a store that carries lines like Maria Bellentani is exciting! I think it’s time to ditch the mom jeans in favour of soft Italian knitwear and amazing jackets for fall! With new trends, new colors and new stock arriving every day, I discover something new every time I step inside!

I’ve come to realize how grown up my kids are becoming with every passing September – they’re definitely not the children I kissed goodbye before preschool anymore. Like any mother, it breaks my heart to think of my babies growing up and leaving the nest. However, I truly do think it is important to savour every moment I have with them before they leave to start their own lives. Willow Park is the perfect basecamp for back to school – providing a one-stop shopping experience means that the time I save can be well spent with my kids!

Have a great September, my lovelies!

Until next time,

– XO Willow
