Brave breast cancer survivor and well-deserved winner of the Pamper Her Pink campaign, Mary Lauzon inspired us with her courageous journey to recovery.
This past October, in honour of National Breast Cancer Awareness month, we teamed up with Macleod Trail Plastic Surgery to bring awareness to the disease and award a breast cancer survivor with the ultimate pampering package. Participants were nominated by a loved-one who retold the survivor’s personal journey from diagnosis to recovery.
The winner Mary Lauzon was nominated by her lovely daughter Maryanne Moes, who eloquently captured her mother’s battle against the disease and her strength in overcoming it. In her tribute she writes,
“Chemotherapy was recommended, starting with treatment in June and ending with a final treatment in August. A summer filled with intense emotional and physical distress, but also many beautiful moments with family and friends by her side. Hair, eyebrows, eyelashes lost. Unfiltered joy in watching them grow back following treatment. Her beautiful, infectious smile (and laugh) never fading.”
The staff at Macleod Trail Plastic Surgery assisted Mary in navigating her breast reconstruction options and provided full support during her surgical experience. The clinic was delighted to announce her as the Pamper Her Pink winner and was inspired by her unwavering optimistic spirit.
“Recovery continues, and is proving to be a difficult journey, but her strength and positive attitude continue to inspire all those around her. I know I speak for so many when I say I feel so lucky to have this beautiful soul in my life, and I look forward to many more years watching her amazing, loving spirit blessing the lives and hearts of everyone she touches,” wrote Maryanne Moes.
In support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we were one of the proud sponsors of the Pamper Her Pink package, valued at over $1800. Take a look at what the winner received:
