Two Giraffe’s focuses on high quality, structurally sound footwear that is both functional and fashionable. We believe that a child’s shoes can be instrumental in their development both physically and emotionally.

The Heskes family has a strong desire to create an environment of knowledge and footwear that helps support the development of happy and healthy children, because they experienced firsthand how instrumental footwear can be for a child’s growth. In 2019, Reid & Meabh Heskes’ twins were born 8 weeks premature at the Rocky View hospital in Calgary and transferred to the Giraffe ward in NICU. Their son was delayed in walking and after working with countless podiatrists, physiotherapists, pediatricians, and osteopaths, they realized there was very little available for parents looking for specialized services and expertise in Calgary.

Two Giraffe’s worked with professionals in the community to train staff on essentials of childhood development, walking patterns and shoes that best fit specific needs. Our store seeks to create an environment that allows for children and parents to engage with friendly and knowledgeable staff that can help guide them through the fitting process and recommend shoes based on fit/style.

At Two Giraffe’s you will also find and array of apparel and accessories that are locally made. We are proud to be a part of contributing to the development of our community and vitality of Calgary’s small business sector.
