Willow Park Village’s newest store truly shines when it comes to incredibly durable, stylish outdoors clothes!
Elements is a new concept from the independent company, that brought Patagonia stores to Calgary, Banff and Victoria. It features both the Patagonia and Filson brands. These quality brands are valued for their longevity and environmental responsibility. As the first Elements store in the country, this intimate shopping experience is catered to Calgarians who balance spending time in our unapparelled mountain playgrounds with weekend dog walking and brunching in our cosmopolitan city.
“We really wanted to go to the south of Calgary, we have a downtown location and we would like to provide the opportunity for easier shopping with parking, in a boutique-style mall. Willow Park just resonated with us; it feels like a community,” says Neda Jansen, Elements General Manager.
With a strong ethos for the environment, Elements has created a unique design concept to give the store a rustic and warm feel. To lessen its environmental impact, many fixtures were made from repurposed and reclaimed wood from Willow Park Village itself after the 41-year-old shopping centre embarked on an exterior renovation this summer.
“We have everything from fleece fashion styles to parkas and gear for the experienced outdoors enthusiast. We’re excited to introduce the Filson brand which has the best clothing for the western heritage of Alberta with its ranching and outfitting history. Filson is a Seattle, Washington based brand that makes clothing to endure. It was actually a company that outfitted the Alaskan gold rush and creates quality clothing. It has been in business for over a hundred years, “What worked then, still works now”. We have everything!” Says Store Manager, Catherine Abbott.
“Elements is excited to offer a new combination of top outdoor brands like Filson and Patagonia to create a high-quality shopping experience in south Calgary.” In addition to these two iconic brands, Elements also has available a curated select of Devold, Smartwool, Hestra, and Black Diamond products.
“Being independently owned and operated, I think an important message for us is that we’re not a big box store and we hope to keep that flavour and high-end customer service,” says Abbott. “We have a very unique and inviting feel in our store.”
You can find Elements in Willow Park Village across from Starbucks. Open Monday – Saturday from 10am to 6pm and Sundays from 11am to 5pm with ample parking out front.
