The arrival of summer also means the arrival of the Calgary Stampede! I love how the entire city transforms when the greatest outdoor show on earth rolls into town – everyone dons cowboy hats and boots, country music blares from every speaker and pancakes become their own food group!
Over the years, it’s become tradition for me to throw a BBQ to officially kick-off the Stampede season. My friends and family always marvel at my stress-free attitude when it comes to entertaining, but it’s easy when I can pick-up everything I need at Willow Park Village. Below are my must-haves for throwing the ultimate BBQ bash this Stampede:
M&M Food Market:
As a busy mom, I love M&M’s for its convenience, affordability and delicious offerings. Their Angus Beef Burgers are my top choice for any BBQ – plus they are a guaranteed crowd pleaser! I always pick-up some of the Chargrilled Veggie Burgers too, as it’s a delicious option for all my vegetarian guests.

COBS Bread:
A delicious, juicy burger isn’t possible without a tasty bun to go alongside it! COBS’ gourmet hamburger buns are the perfect option for those serious about grilling, as they are rich and more full-flavoured. For the kids (and kids at heart), I also make sure to have some of their freshly-baked hot dog buns on hand.

Crave Cupcakes:
It’s not a true Stampede party without mini doughnuts. This year, Crave Cupcakes is featuring everyone’s favourite midway treat…cupcake style! Crave’s mini doughnut cupcakes are freshly-baked then rolled in cinnamon and sugar. But they’re only available for 10 days during Stampede, so be sure to try them while you still can!

Lammle’s Western Wear & Tack:
It’s a requirement that you dress in Western wear at my Stampede party! Whether I’m looking for a new pair of cowboy boots or a cute accessory to add to an outfit, I know Lammle’s will have the perfect piece. I can’t resist checking out their amazing selection of cowboy boots – I’m especially loving all the embroidered options this season!
