I think we can all agree that fall snuck up on us quickly this year. With the leaves turning and temperatures dropping, the first signs of fall always have me thinking about what the season has in store—naturally, my mind goes to the upcoming holidays. I can practically smell the turkey roasting in the oven and taste that first bite of warm pumpkin pie!
To get you ready for a busy season of juggling kids, entertaining friends, and hosting family dinner parties, I thought I’d share some of my favourite spots at Willow Park Village to get your holiday errands done.
My first stop is always Home Treasures and more, where I can stock up on some great fall home décor to get the house looking festive for Thanksgiving. I love picking out a new fall centrepiece for our dining room table, and I usually sneak in a few spooky Halloween knickknacks for the kids to decorate with.
Next on the list is Blooms & Butterflies. Their beautifully crafted arrangements and wide selection of fresh flowers make the perfect gift when heading to a dinner party at the in-laws. Plus, I always bring a fresh bouquet home to liven up the living room with fall colours!
After a busy morning running errands, I pick up my dad for his annual hearing assessment at the Harp Hearing Care. The staff are so knowledgeable and attentive— I know he is in good hands with Dr. Blenkhorn and her team. Don’t forget that October is Audiology Awareness Month, so be sure to stop by for a free hearing assessment.
While I wait for my dad to finish his appointment, I drop in to one of my favourite stores, Williams Evans. They have a great selection of stylish essentials for cooler temperatures like tweed jackets, cozy cashmere sweaters, scarves and gloves. The store is equipped with beautiful and sturdy outerwear and sophisticated accessories. Plus, I always appreciate the warm and friendly advice from their staff.
After my dad’s appointment, we treat ourselves to brunch at one of my favourite spots, Tutti Frutti Breakfast & Lunch. Dad usually goes for a savoury crêpe, while I indulge in something decadent and sweet. Tutti Frutti is currently running its Apple Fest promotion; the crepe is stuffed with caramelized apples, caramel and yogurt – so delicious! We can always count on the freshest ingredients and friendly service. Plus, it gives us a chance to spend some much-needed quality time together.
Being able to get all my errands done at Willow Park Village helps take a bit of the stress out of the holiday season. Less time checking off the to-do list, more time spent with loved ones! Happy Fall!
XO, Willow
