Hitting the Reset Button

Following the holiday season, it’s always so hard for me to get back into my daily routine. But a new year often accompanies a renewed commitment to achieving my goals, both professionally and personally. While it can often be difficult to get back in the habit of eating healthy, exercising and just taking care of myself in general, Willow Park Village is a one-stop destination that makes it easy to get motivated.

My first priority for 2018 is to start eating healthy, so a stop to MADE Foods is definitely in order. They recently launched a 3-day cleanse program with Well Juicery, that combines their delicious salads and soups with cold pressed juices for a detox that isn’t quite as hard on your body. This is a great way for me to get back into healthy eating this year.

It’s no surprise that January is always the busiest month of the year at the gym. As a mom, it can sometimes be hard to set aside time to exercise. Because of this, I’m signing up for an annual membership with 9Round Fitness, as it’s a full-body workout that is fun, fast, and easy to incorporate into your daily routine – no more excuses for me!

If work out classes aren’t really your style, why not give working out at home a go in 2018? Fitness Equipment of Calgary has a great selection of equipment from treadmills to weights to TRX kits. Meet with one of their dedicated sales associate to determine the right products for your gym routine. Working out while watching Ellen makes exercise bearable!

Next stop is Willow Park Village Chiropractic for a quick adjustment. If you’re sitting at your desk all day, be sure to pick up a Straighten Up Alberta stretching sheet – it’s a 3-minute stretching routine that helps improve posture, strengthen core muscles, and improves spinal health.

It can be tempting to change your wardrobe and get a new look once January rolls around. Willow Park Hairstyling Salon and Spa is the perfect place to treat myself post-holiday and spruce up my ‘do’! They say hair stylists are like therapists and it’s true – this is the perfect place to escape the stresses of day-to-day life with a blowout (and a pedicure, while you’re at it).

And last, but certainly not least, I love the idea of getting new bedding for the new year so The Down Shop is a definite must-visit. There’s truly nothing better than crawling into a bed with new, clean sheets. I can’t recommend investing in a down duvet more – it keeps you warm and cozy in the winter and cool in the summer!

I hope you’re all having a wonderful start to 2018! I love the idea of hitting the reset button and starting fresh in the new year!

Until next time,

– XO Willow
