For the amount I love fashion, I am not much of a mall shopper. I think I head out to a local mall a handful of times throughout the year and it’s usually when I’m gift shopping for others. The stress of trying to find parking, or jostle packages through a crowd, yikes it’s just not for me. That’s why I have frequented the shops of Willow Park Village ever since first moving to Calgary. It’s quiet and quaint, you can grab a coffee and wander the shops. It has a small town vibe, smack dab in the city. From fashion boutiques, specialty housewares, spas, restaurants, specialty meat, cheese AND fish markets, or another personal favorite of mine Willow Park Wines and Spirits, it’s a one stop shopping area.
This week a girlfriend and I decided to take advantage of the gorgeous warm weather we are having here in January and get out for a visit and peruse. One of the first stops (after becoming fully caffeinated) was Check-M8 shoes. I have bought some of my favorite pair of boots from this little shop and let’s just say there were a few more this time that wanted to follow me home.
Can they please follow me home??
Next stop was at Lammles Western Wear, I mean hello it’s like cowboy boot heaven- of course you always have to stop in and have a look!
The Lammles in Willow Park truly has one of the best cowboy boot selections for men and women in Calgary and although my collection didn’t grow this week, we found an AMAZING blanket patterned jacket from Ariat and a southwestern inspired sweater, best part of all- they are having a winter sale at the moment. Even better to take advantage of the cute brands such as Tasha Polizzi, RU Apparel and Rock 47 and a wide array of accessories.
After our successful finds at Lammles we wandered over to Jones New York and admired a huge selection of cute work dresses and bright spring arrivals. Then off to Stephanies Kid’s to drool over tiny Canada Goose jackets and Burberry outfits that I was wishing I could shrink myself into.
And of course my inner magpie couldn’t pass by Blue Moon Accessories without having a look. They carry some of my favorite designers like Phyrra and some new found favorites like these Lenny and Eva bracelets that you can personalize. They also have the largest collection of Alex and Ani accessories and had to leave with one of their delicate rose gold arrow rings.
And a trip to Willow Park would not be complete without one of two things, wine or a Crave cupcake. For those of you who haven’t visited a Crave before there is only one way to describe them- Deliciously Amazing (OK maybe two words). Top of my favorites are the Peppermint Patty or the Red Velvet with Cream Cheese Icing. Fun Fact- They Actually Sell Tubs of Their Decadent Icing! However I’d advise maybe just enjoy Crave AFTER you finish trying clothes on.
Thank you to Willow Park for encouraging our fun girls afternoon and as always my opinions are my own.
