On May 13, Willow Park Village (WPV) will officially unveil its first art installation. Recognizing the ongoing trend of bringing art and culture to public spaces, WPV will reveal two installations this spring to celebrate the season’s arrival and help bring people together. The first installation, two 6-foot flower walls adorned in multi-colored hydrangeas, will be officially revealed on May 13 in conjunction with Mother’s Day. To celebrate the amazing mothers and mother-figures in our lives. Shoppers will be encouraged to snap a photo at the wall and share it on social media using #PossibilitiesAreBlooming.
WPV is also partnering with the Women in Needs Society (WINS), a non-profit organization that supports women in low-income situations, for its Mother’s Day event. WINS representatives will be onsite to help raise awareness about the programs and services the organization provides to Calgarians. In addition, donation boxes will be available in various WPV stores throughout the event for those interested in supporting the organization.
Happening in the Village:
A local Calgary artist (Natasha Ritchie) will be on site capturing the event with a live painting. The painting will be auctioned off at the end of the event and all proceeds from the painting will go directly to WINS.
Maker YYC will be hosting a DIY watercolour flower pillow workshop. The workshop will be taking place in Armadio By Delia – a consignment shop. To purchase tickets, click here. Register now – spots are limited.
Make sure to stop by for fun activities and events happening throughout the Village on May 13, while enjoying a walk in the park!
